The Singing Soccer Players of Östersund broadcast on SVT

April 5 was the premier of The Comfort Zone / The Singing Soccer Players of Östersund on Swedish television, a film about a unique interdisciplinary phenomenon where culture and sport meet.

Östersunds FK is a sensation in the soccer world and has become the first Swedish team to reach the finals of the UEFA Cup in record time. The team’s success is not only down to training but also a high-profile cultural project that forced the soccer players to step far outside their comfort zone. The coach of this culture training was Maxida Märak, a hip hop musician, joik singer and Sami ironwork artist.

The Comfort Zone / The Singing Soccer Players of Östersund documentary is the story of a unique interdisciplinary phenomenon where culture and sport meet. The film focuses on Graham Potters unconventional methods in seeking the help of professional dance and singing coaches to develop the players in the Östersund premier-league soccer team.
